Bob Wamhoff’s February 2013 Market Outlook

Here at Wamhoff, you hear us talk a lot about active money management. That means we’re always working for you, making investment moves to help keep you diversified to reach your retirement goals. We watch the market closely for you, and are happy to report that January 2013 was the best January in the stock market in over 20 years! The first of February also saw the market close at over 14,000 points for the first time in six years. These are great confidence builders for investors, and these high numbers tell us that people who have been sitting on the sidelines for the past few years have finally started to return to the market. Wamhoff and our clients have been there throughout, buying low and experiencing the upside. Bob_W

While there are positive signs about the economy out there, such as the stock market gains and last week’s unemployment report, we know that what goes up must come down, so I remain cautious. We continue to use alternative investments to hedge the markets, and many are outperforming my expectations. Active money management and true diversification will help our clients get to their desired financial future. Just remember, we’re in this for the long haul – not just for today or tomorrow – so keep your eye on that overall end goal and stay the course.

In addition to the positive market outlook, we also have some great news to report from the Wamhoff team. In the last few weeks, we have expanded our financial planning team with two new talented individuals. Matt Allgeyer is our newest Financial Planner, who comes to Wamhoff with many years of experience helping clients reach their financial goals. He is licensed in securities, health and life insurance. Dawn Bernich is also a seasoned financial professional, with 13 years in the industry. She will assist our financial planning team to serve all your needs.

As always, please feel free to call us for any questions you may have. It’s our job to manage your financial future, and we have 38 years of experience doing just that. I pray that 2013 is a good year for all of you, and remember, stay healthy, wealthy and wise…and certainly, stay tuned.
